Health & Therapy

The salt water extracted from the Bad Kreuznach Salinental comes from 9 m high graduation towers, with a length of 1.1 km. The salt water comes from a depth of 500 m via a pipeline to the graduation works. The salts are absorbed by the air, tiny water droplets are inhaled. The valuable salts have a positive effect on the body, stimulate the self-purification process and strengthen the immune system.

The brine spray system near the PK Parkhotel Kurhaus contains valuable mineral salts which, when inhaled, alleviate circulation and skin problems.

Location & Surroundings:

With 9 graduation towers, Bad Kreuznach in the Salinental is considered the largest open-air inhalatorium in Europe. The town enjoys a favourable climate in the romantic Nahe Valley. Recognised as a state spa since 1817, it is valued for its salt-rich mineral springs. The Romans and Celts already used the healing properties of the thermal waters. This quaint spa town has much to offer: a relaxed pedestrian zone, small shops, cafes, and restaurants. The state capital, Mainz, is about 25 miles away. Bad Kreuznach is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Rhine Valley, the Palatinate, and the Hunsrück.

Getting There:

TRANSFER SpaDreams recommends taking a taxi.

Spa & Wellness:

In the basement of the hotel, there is a sauna.

Enjoy a thermal retreat in the curcenia therms (8 a.m. - 9 p.m., direct access from the hotel via a bathrobe corridor). The three indoor and outdoor pools (approx. 91°F) are fed by a brine source (salty and mineral-rich) and are filled with mineral-rich healing water with a mild salt concentration of 1.5%. The mild salt concentration (approx. 1.5%) strengthens the body and the salty air is ideal for the treatment of lung, bronchial, and heart diseases. Additionally, a large freshwater pool and relaxation areas both indoors and outdoors are available. Regular aqua aerobics classes are also held.

Exceptional luxury is offered by the Bäderhaus (approx. 43,000 sq ft, 3-hour ticket approx. €22 (approx. UK £19 / USD $23)), one of the most beautiful sauna and wellness landscapes in Germany, right next to the hotel. The Bäderhaus features brine pools, a large pool with a waterfall, an ice grotto, 11 saunas and steam baths, a hammam, a Moorish and Sheherazade bath. There is also a sauna chalet, an outdoor pool, and a waterwheel shower on the rooftop terrace. In the beauty salon of the Bäderhaus, you will find a wide range of wellness services including facial and body treatments as well as Ayurvedic massages. Products from Dr. Payot are primarily used.

Diverse Hiking Paradise:

Hiking strengthens the cardiovascular system, improves blood circulation, and fortifies muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons. Above all, it relaxes and rejuvenates. The Nahetal hiking region with its expansive hills, forests, vineyards, and meadows is directly accessible from the spa park - right from the hotel. Around Bad Kreuznach alone, an 80 km network of circular hiking trails awaits you!

Pool Area:

A brine spring (containing salt and minerals) feeds the three indoor and outdoor pools (approx. 33°C) of the Crucenia thermal baths (8 am - 9 pm, bathrobe access from the hotel). The thermal baths also offer a spacious freshwater pool (approx. 30°C), relaxation areas and aqua fitness. The mild salt concentration (approx. 15%) invigorates the body. Crucenia salt caves, built from 12,000 bricks of pure Dead Sea salt, the dry, ionized air contains 21 minerals, ideal for the treatment of lung, bronchial and heart diseases.

Radon Therapy in the Mountain Mine:

For over a century, Bad Kreuznach has offered pain therapy with radon in the Sanitätsrat Dr. Jöckel mine, a disused mercury mine. The air in the radon mine contains the radioactive gas radon in low concentrations - harmless with proper medical prescription. It originates from the metal radium contained in the porphyry rock of the mountain massif. Since 1912, inhalation therapy has been used primarily as pain therapy for rheumatic diseases.

Health & Treatments:

The brine sourced from Bad Kreuznach's Salinental, derived from 9 m high graduation towers stretching 1.1 km, is piped from a depth of 500 m to the towers. The salts, absorbed by the air and inhaled in tiny water droplets, have a positive effect on the body, stimulating the self-cleansing process and boosting the immune system. The brine spray facility near the Parkhotel Kurhaus contains valuable mineral salts that alleviate circulatory and skin issues upon inhalation.
